Black History Month; New MCDC Website; Mercer County Democratic Convention

Dear Fellow Democrat, Since 1976, February has been declared Black History Month, as a time to celebrate our diversity and reflect on the importance of Black Americans throughout our history. I applaud the many inspiring and instructive programs being sponsored by our Mercer County Democratic organizations and officials to celebrate the life and legacies of Black Americans who have contributed so much to Mercer County and our country in every segment of our lives.

MERCER COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE! Our NEW website is LIVE at https://www.mercernjdemocrats.com/. The new website will assist in facilitating the sharing of information and putting forward our officials, candidates and events, and a Mercer County Democratic MESSAGE. Continue to visit our MCDC website and share your ideas — as we continue to enhance the site. A huge Shout Out to Hopewell Committeeman David Chait for his great work and technological skills in building the new website!

CALENDAR: The Mercer County Democratic Endorsement Convention will be held on Sunday, March 5 at the Hyatt Regency hotel, 102 Carnegie Center Drive, West Windsor (right off Route 1 North), with registration commencing at 2 p.m. and the convention gaveled to order at 2:45 p.m. All Mercer Democrats should be assured that the Mercer County Democratic Convention will be conducted in compliance with the Mercer County Democratic Committee Bylaws and Rules — to ensure a participatory transparent and fair convention. Pursuant to the MCDC Bylaws, I have appointed the Convention Committee and Hopewell Committeeman Kevin Kuchinski has graciously agreed to chair the Committee. The Convention Committee is responsible to: review the accuracy of the delegate lists, ensure compliance with all deadlines regarding the seating of delegates, review and accept candidate letters of interest received, all in compliance with the procedures as set forth in the MCDC Bylaws and Rules. All decisions about supporting candidates are made by a vote of the entire Convention on March 5. In accordance with our MCDC practice, all candidates will receive notice of meetings of the Convention Committee and be invited to attend or send a representative to observe the meeting.
